History
On the Mudcat Cafe - found lyrics, and, here is something cool - what appears to be either original sheet music or at least contemporous (1907); . This is on the "Lester S. Levy Collection of Sheet Music", a special collection at the Johns Hopkins University library.
An even better set of images of the same document can be found at the Duke University website. (This is where I got the thumbnail...)
Also in the Mudcat forums was info about the fact that there are several sets of lyrics, some not so clean, and that it is a popular session and campground tune, and that 'everyone' knows the lyrics, but they are seldom sung mainly because it is difficult to keep up with the fiddler at bluegrass tempo...
Found references in the Mudcat Forums about the tune being found on JC's TuneGet (Which I also use...). There are several versions there, the one I snagged is Tune022409.png);
